(Wen/Chen Lu, Huang Danni, Lu Yitu/He Linling Audit/Gao Xinyue) On November 21, the Department of Psychology of the College of Software Engineering [College of Civil Engineering and Surveying and Mapping Engineering (Nanchang)] organized the psychological committee members and dormitory psychological liaison officers of all classes in our college to participate in the training of "Crisis Intervention and Peer Counseling Skills" given by Gao Xinyue.
In this training conference, Gao Xinyue introduced his main work as a peer counselor and the skills of peer counseling. Gao Xinyue pointed out that as a peer counselor, we should find out the abnormal situation of the students in the class in time and fill in the questionnaire or report it to the head teacher. We should have certain theoretical knowledge, actively popularize mental health knowledge to students, help others to help themselves, always cherish the heart of helping others, pay attention to the psychological dynamics of students, and convey warmth and care to students in class.
Later, Gao Xinyue talked about the "psychological crisis of college students", reminded us to focus on 12 types of students, described the difference between anxiety and depression, and urged us to report the crisis immediately. When the person is in an abnormal state, the intense pain will make it more difficult for him to make a reasonable decision. At this time, confidentiality and other things such as studies are secondary in front of life.
Finally, Gao Xinyue talked about "the prevention of suicide behavior among college students", explained the cognitive misunderstanding of suicide behavior, and instructed everyone how to intervene in other people's suicide behavior, put forward the method of suicide intervention response training and related professional concepts, and appealed to everyone to help students with a sincere and concerned attitude. Through the study of the above three points, we have a deeper understanding of peer counseling, and can also help students out of difficulties in a more professional way.
In this psychological training, the students further realized their responsibilities and obligations as peer counselors, and learned more about mental health knowledge and psychological counseling skills, which will be of great help to the future development of mental health work in the class.
