The theme of the meeting was "In-depth Study and Implementation of the Spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Striving to Write a New Chapter of Chinese-Style Modernization". Huang Zhifan, Member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Vice President, attended the meeting for guidance, and Liu Fupeng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Metallurgical Engineering, attended online. Members of the School Party Committee participated in the meeting, and Liu Shumin, Vice Dean, attended as a non-voting participant. The meeting was presided over by Lan Xinhua, Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee (in charge of work).

The meeting studied the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech during his inspection tour in Guangdong by watching videos, emphasizing the need to thoroughly study, publicize and implement the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and promote high-quality development through comprehensive deepening of reform and opening up. The meeting learned theoretical articles including "Suggestions of the Communist Party of China Central Committee on Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development", "Deeply Grasp the Important Principles That Must Be Followed for China's Development During the '15th Five-Year Plan' Period — On Studying and Implementing the Spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China", "Mobilization Meeting of the Central Propaganda Group for Studying and Implementing the Spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Held in Beijing, Cai Qi Attended and Delivered a Speech", "Develop New Quality Productive Forces in Light of Local Conditions", and Chapter 4 of the Fifth Volume of "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" — "Develop New Quality Productive Forces in Light of Local Conditions and Achieve High-Quality Development". At the meeting, Xue Jinchun, Dean of the School, introduced the school's "15th Five-Year Plan" development plan in combination with the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, clarifying the core goals and key tasks for future development.

In the discussion and exchange session, Ma Jun, Liu Qiuming and Liu Shumin, combining the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the actual development of the school, conducted in-depth discussions around core contents such as the cultivation of new quality productive forces, the path of high-quality development, and the implementation measures of the plan, and put forward a series of targeted and operable opinions and suggestions.

After the discussion, Liu Fupeng made comments. He affirmed the preparation and effectiveness of this study meeting, believing that the learning content was closely linked to the theme and the actual situation of the school, the discussion and exchange were in-depth, and he put forward opinions and suggestions on further strengthening the transformation of theories and refining planning measures.

Subsequently, Huang Zhifan delivered a guiding speech. He fully affirmed the arrangement, content and achievements of this study meeting, and put forward three requirements from the overall perspective of the university's development: first, focus on the university's "Double First-Class" construction goal and plan the school's development at a high level; second, serve the needs of the country and localities and dare to reform and innovate; third, further clarify the school's development goals, unite sincerely, overcome difficulties, continuously improve the overall school-running level of the school, and inject greater momentum into promoting the development of the school's cause.

Finally, Lan Xinhua made a summary speech. He said that this study meeting achieved the organic unity of theoretical learning and practical planning, and effectively improved the political standing and performance capabilities of the team members. He required all personnel to take this study as an opportunity to continuously deepen their understanding and grasp of the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, transform the learning achievements into a strong driving force for promoting the implementation of the school's "15th Five-Year Plan", and strive to write a new chapter in the high-quality development of the school and the construction of Chinese-style modernization with a more pragmatic style and more effective measures.
