Members of the school's leadership team, Party committee members, directors of departments and teaching and research sections, and heads of various school offices attended the meeting, which was presided over by Xue Jinchun, dean of the school.
At the beginning of the meeting, General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on fire safety work were studied. Thirdly, Guo Quanjiang, director of the Undergraduate Teaching Management Office, conveyed and studied documents including the "Self-Inspection Guide for Electrical Fire Control", "Jiangxi University of Science and Technology Fire Safety Responsibility Division and Implementation Plan", "Notice on Solidly Promoting the Special Work of Campus Fire Prevention and Control in Autumn and Winter", "Jiangxi University of Science and Technology 2025 Fire Safety Publicity Month Activity Implementation Plan", "Fire Safety Knowledge for Crowded Places on Campus", and "Fire Extinguisher Usage Guide".
Subsequently, Lan Xinhua, deputy secretary of the school Party committee (in charge of work), pointed out that safe campus construction has only a starting point but no end point; it is always in progress and never completed. The task is arduous and the responsibility is great. He hoped that everyone would take this meeting as a new starting point, take immediate action, and focus on investigating potential safety hazards such as cigarette butts in dormitories, high-power illegal electrical appliances, random wiring, and aging circuits. With higher standards, stricter requirements, and more pragmatic work styles, we should implement all the arrangements determined at the meeting, pay close attention to hidden danger investigation and rectification, pay close attention to the implementation of responsibility measures, go all out to build an impenetrable wall for the school's safety and stability, and provide a strong and effective safety guarantee for the high-quality development of various undertakings of the school!
Finally, Xue Jinchun made specific arrangements for the special work of campus fire prevention and control in autumn and winter, requiring that responsibilities for places such as laboratories, student dormitories, teaching and research sections, school offices, and meeting rooms be assigned to specific individuals, and each responsible person should conduct a comprehensive and thorough investigation of potential safety hazards in their respective responsible areas as soon as possible. Xue Jinchun pointed out that safety and stability are the cornerstone and premise for the development of all undertakings of the school, an insurmountable bottom line, and even more a "lifeline" that we must firmly hold. Without a safe and stable environment, teaching and scientific research, talent training, discipline construction, etc., are all out of the question. All staff of the school, especially members of our Party committee team, must fully understand the importance of safe campus construction work from a political and overall perspective, and effectively enhance the sense of hardship and responsibility. We must resolutely overcome any slack thinking, fluke mentality, and lazy mood, always keep the string of safety and stability taut, and integrate safe campus construction into all aspects and the whole process of the school's work.
