The school formulated five action plans to enhance momentum and build consensus for high-quality development in the new semester.
On the morning of September 8, the school convened a joint meeting of department heads and Party branch secretaries. At the meeting, Lan Xinhua, Deputy Party Secretary (acting), conveyed and studied the spirit of the 12th Plenary Session (Expanded) of the 7th Party Committee of Jiangxi University of Science and Technology and the spirit of the university's 2025 summer intensive training session for cadres and talents. Dean Xue Jinchun proposed the School of Software Engineering's “Five Action Plans” on how to anchor the university's central task of building a world-class university in rare earth and critical minerals: First, the Talent Strengthening Special Action Plan for World-Class University Development; second, the AI-Empowered Education and Teaching Reform Innovation Special Action Plan; third, the Rare Earth and Critical Minerals Field Scientific and Technological Innovation Special Action Plan; fourth, the Integration into the International Copper Capital Innovation Valley Special Action Plan; and fifth, the Doctoral Program Application and Jiangxi Advanced Research Institute Construction Support Special Action Plan.
At the meeting, Xue Jinchun outlined work requirements focusing on “what to do” and “how to do it” for the new semester. First, all departments and teaching and research offices must deeply focus on the spirit of the university meeting and scientifically plan their work for the new semester. Second, leaders in charge of respective areas should carefully summarize this year's work progress, address weaknesses, leverage strengths, and clarify directions to ensure high-quality completion of the school's annual tasks. Third, thoroughly prepare for teaching management, scientific research, student administration, and orientation activities at the semester's outset to commence the term with vigorous momentum. Fourth, further strengthen daily management of teaching and research offices to tangibly enhance their operational efficiency in teaching organization.
On the afternoon of September 8, college leaders Xue Jinchun, Lan Xinhua, Liu Shumin, and Liu Qiuming visited frontline teaching areas to inspect and guide instructional operations on the first day of classes. They meticulously observed faculty teaching, student attendance, and classroom engagement. Following classes, they engaged in cordial discussions with faculty and students, soliciting teaching feedback and offering guidance. Overall, the college maintained orderly teaching operations on the opening day, with both faculty and students displaying high spirits and a positive outlook for the new semester.
On the afternoon of September 9, the college convened the 2025 Fall Semester Class Advisor Work Conference. At the meeting, Fang Yating, Director of the Student Affairs Office and Secretary of the Youth League Committee, outlined key tasks including safety education, orientation arrangements, support for students facing difficulties, and employment promotion. She emphasized the need to ensure student rights through “one file per student, dynamically updated” and the principles of “openness, fairness, and justice.” Lan Xinhua, Deputy Party Secretary (acting), fully acknowledged the dedicated efforts and achievements of the homeroom teacher team. He urged continued attention to students' ideological trends and practical difficulties, reinforced campus safety and stability measures, and called for ongoing improvements in educational effectiveness.
On the afternoon of September 9, the college convened a faculty and staff assembly. Lan Xinhua outlined work arrangements for his areas of responsibility, including ideology, teacher ethics, ideological and political education, and student affairs. Liu Shumin focused on teaching arrangements and specific requirements, while Liu Qiuming addressed research work. Xue Jinchun delivered a new semester mobilization speech on behalf of the college leadership. Xue Jinchun conducted an in-depth analysis of the new circumstances and demands facing higher education development. Aligning with the university's overall development plan and the college's actual conditions, he clearly outlined five action plans requiring full implementation in the new semester. First, the Talent Strengthening Special Action Plan for World-Class University Development must focus on enhancing the recruitment and cultivation of high-level talent while continuously improving mechanisms for talent team development. Second, the AI-Empowered Education and Teaching Reform Innovation Special Action Plan should actively promote the deep integration of smart education throughout the entire process of curriculum development and teaching practice. Third, the Special Action Plan for Serving Scientific and Technological Innovation in Rare Earth and Key Mineral Fields, which emphasizes further highlighting disciplinary strengths and enhancing societal service capabilities. Fourth, the Special Action Plan for Integrating into the International Copper Capital Innovation Valley, which aims to continuously strengthen university-local collaboration and the effectiveness of scientific and technological achievement transformation. Fifth, the Special Action Plan for Supporting Doctoral Program Applications and the Construction of the Jiangxi Institute of Advanced Studies, which focuses on continuously strengthening disciplinary development and platform support capabilities. Xue Jinchun emphasized that these action plans represent the top priorities for the college in the new semester. All faculty and staff must further unify their understanding, elevate their political stance, and genuinely enhance their sense of responsibility and mission. They should focus on key tasks, refine work measures, strengthen coordination and collaboration, and form a cohesive force. With a high sense of responsibility and full enthusiasm, they must diligently advance the implementation of all plans, jointly propel the college's development to new heights, and strive to achieve the goal of high-quality development.
On the afternoon of September 9, all teaching and research offices convened special meetings to thoroughly implement the spirit of the faculty assembly, ensuring a strong start for teaching and research initiatives in the new semester.
Centering on the five action plans, the college systematically deployed new semester tasks in Party building, research, teaching, and student affairs, unifying perspectives and building consensus. This semester, the entire college will unite in purpose and advance pragmatically, collectively propelling all college endeavors to new heights and making fresh, greater contributions to the university's development.
