On the afternoon of January 11th, the School of Software Engineering held a teaching work summary and the arrangement meeting for the next semester in the 1308 conference room. The meeting aimed to comprehensively review and summarize the teaching work of this academic year, analyze problems and deficiencies, and clarify the teaching priorities and directions for the next semester to ensure the steady improvement of teaching quality. The meeting was presided over by Vice Dean Liu Shudmin, and the director of the teaching office, department heads, directors of teaching and research sections, director of the Information Practice Center, and teaching secretaries attended. At the beginning of the meeting, Liu Shumin conveyed the spirit of the school's third undergraduate teaching work conference of this semester. Taking Yu Shuangyang, the recipient of the school's "Outstanding Teaching Contribution Award", as an example, he encouraged front-line teachers to devote themselves to the teaching platform, be courageous in innovating teaching methods, empower classroom teaching transformation with AI technology, and enhance teaching quality and effectiveness through project-driven approaches.
Subsequently, Liu Shumin reported on the various work situations of the college in 2024, including the application and conclusion of innovation and entrepreneurship, educational and teaching reform projects, the application and publication of textbooks, course construction, professional construction, transfer and professional distribution, the spot check of undergraduate graduation theses, and the daily teaching management such as examination invigilation, course scheduling and class adjustment. He not only affirmed the highlights and achievements of the teaching work in this academic year but also pointed out the existing problems and deficiencies. The participants contributed their ideas and actively discussed solutions.
Immediately after, the meeting moved on to the arrangement of teaching work for the next semester. Liu Shumin made specific deployments on graduation internships, graduation projects (theses), make-up and deferred exams, textbook distribution, student status changes and academic warnings, major changes and major distribution, as well as the establishment of AI+ courses within the college. He emphasized that the college will focus on fostering AI+ course projects in the next semester to promote educational and teaching reforms.
Finally, Liu Shumin reaffirmed that teaching is the core of the college's development and is directly related to its long-term growth and the success of students. He called on all teachers to continuously improve teaching quality and strive to cultivate more outstanding talents with strong employability, contributing to the college's development.
