On December 3rd, the School of Software Engineering held the "AI+ Curriculum and Project-Based Teaching Project Kickoff Meeting" with the theme of "AI Empowering Classroom Transformation Practice and Project-Driven Talent Cultivation" in the 1302 Conference Room. President Xue Jinchun attended and delivered a motivational speech. Some front-line teachers also participated. The meeting was presided over by Vice President Liu Shudmin.
This time, the college has approved 12 AI+ courses and 8 project-based teaching projects. To ensure the smooth implementation of these projects, the college will provide financial support for each one. The AI+ courses and project-based teaching projects funded this time cover 18 courses. At the kick-off meeting, Liu Shumin encouraged teachers to use AI technology for teaching innovation, such as developing AI teaching assistants, AI question generation systems, and AI intelligent writing tools, to improve teaching efficiency and learning outcomes. He also shared some experiences in using AI tools and set a deadline for project completion by June next year.
Xue Jinchun emphasized that the rapid development of AI technology has brought unprecedented opportunities and challenges to education and teaching. We hope that through this funding initiative, the college can achieve greater breakthroughs and results in AI+ courses and project-based teaching, and accumulate strength for cultivating school-level, provincial-level, and national-level excellent courses.
