Reported by the Network (Article/Fan Yaxin; Photos/Youth League Committee News Center) On the morning of September 13th, the School of Software Engineering held the Orientation Meeting for the 2025 Freshmen in the Lecture Hall of the Library. Present at the meeting were Xue Jinchun, Dean of the School; Lan Xinhua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee (acting as the principal); Liu Shumin, Vice Dean; Liu Qiuming, Vice Dean; Chai Zheng, Assistant Dean; directors of various offices and teaching and research sections (departments); freshman counselors and class teachers. All freshmen of the 2025 cohort attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Dean Xue Jinchun, based on the actual situation of the School, focused on introducing the professional development, talent cultivation, teaching and research, and employment status. He also shared his learning and growth experience as a "senior" and offered advice to the freshmen, encouraging them to study diligently, act with determination, and pursue progress proactively. Lan Xinhua gave a systematic introduction to the overall development of the university, put forward expectations for the academic planning and personal growth of the 2025 freshmen, and encouraged the students to strengthen their convictions, cherish their time, and strive for excellence.

In the afternoon, the School held a Meeting between Counselors, Class Teachers and the 2025 Freshmen in the No.1 Teaching Building. The meeting focused on topics such as life adaptation and academic guidance. It introduced how to guide students to formulate scientific study plans and adapt to the university teaching mode as soon as possible, as well as the specific job responsibilities of counselors and class teachers in academic counseling, life care, and psychological support. The meeting pointed out that counselors and class teachers of each class will further strengthen communication and cooperation to jointly support the freshmen in adapting to university study and life.

This orientation meeting helped the freshmen gain a comprehensive understanding of the university, the School and their majors, enhanced their confidence and expectations for study and life, and laid a solid foundation for them to successfully start their new university journey.
