By Fan Yaxin (Text) & Xinmeiti (Photos)March 4, 2025 To further strengthen the academic atmosphere and foster a vibrant learning environment, the School of Software Engineering held a mobilization meeting in the auditorium of the First Teaching Building on the afternoon of March 4. The meeting was attended by Lan Xinhua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee (Presiding), Fang Yating, Director of the Student Affairs Office and Secretary of the Youth League Committee, counselors, and student representatives .
At the beginning of the meeting, Fang Yating presented the Implementation Plan for Academic Atmosphere Construction Activities of the School of Software Engineering. The plan, centered on talent cultivation, outlines key measures such as deepening publicity and education, establishing a supervision system, building a collaborative mechanism, and improving a peer-support system. These efforts aim to promote a culture of "enhancing practice through learning and applying knowledge through action," thereby creating a long-term mechanism for sustaining a robust academic atmosphere .
In his address, Lan Xinhua emphasized that building a strong academic atmosphere is a vital initiative in fulfilling the fundamental task of fostering virtue and nurturing talent. He urged all students to adopt a serious attitude toward learning, define clear academic goals, enhance comprehensive capabilities, and actively participate in scientific innovation activities to develop creative thinking . Lan also put forward three expectations: first, to cultivate a deep sense of national identity and integrate personal aspirations into the broader context of national development; second, to set clear goals and realize personal value through systematic planning; third, to strengthen responsibility and dedication, using diligence and perseverance to compose the finest chapter of youth .Following this, Lan Xinhua issued appointment letters to the first group of volunteers for the Academic Assistance Team, encouraging them to exemplify vanguard spirit, help academically challenged students improve their performance, and contribute to a mutually supportive learning ecosystem across the school .
The meeting concluded with Chen Wenjie, a student from Class 2 of the Internet of Things Engineering (Grade 2023), leading all participants in a solemn pledge. They committed to abiding by school regulations, engaging in diligent study and critical thinking, and striving to become practitioners in building a positive academic culture .This mobilization meeting not only deepened students’ understanding of the importance of academic atmosphere construction but also ignited their enthusiasm and initiative for learning, injecting fresh vitality and momentum into the sustained efforts of the School of Software Engineering .
